Working Parent Coaching: Support Through Maternity Leave, Parental Leave and Return to Work
Thoughtful 1:1 coaching for working parents preparing for parental leave, navigating maternity or adoption leave, and returning to work with confidence
Becoming a parent can be one of the most profound transitions of your life — not just personally, but professionally too.
Whether you’re preparing for maternity leave, navigating parental leave, or returning to work after having a child, this season can bring a huge mix of emotions.
As a working parent myself, I know that alongside excitement and joy, there can also be uncertainty, shifting identity, practical overwhelm and unexpected questions about what work means now.
You may find yourself wondering:
How do I prepare emotionally for maternity or parental leave?
Will I still feel the same about my career after becoming a parent?
Can I still be ambitious and want flexibility?
What if I lose confidence while I’m away from work?
What if returning to work after maternity leave feels harder than I expected?
What if the version of work that suited me before no longer fits?
I know what it’s like to hold ambition and flexibility at the same time. To care deeply about your family and still care deeply about your professional identity.
That tension can feel surprisingly lonely.
And while there’s often lots of practical planning around parental leave, there’s far less space for the emotional and professional side of the transition.
That’s where coaching can help.
This is a dedicated 1:1 coaching package designed to support you through the transition into and back from parenthood — helping you navigate the changes with greater confidence, self-awareness and intention.
“Juliette helped me make sense out of lots of overwhelming feelings and helped map out a path so it feels more manageable moving forward.
I’ve started to implement some of the recommendations Juliette gave and am feeling much more in control and grounded because of it.”
Bethany, mum of 2

Your 4-session working parent coaching journey
This is a dedicated 1:1 working parent coaching package designed to support you through maternity leave, parental leave and the transition back to work — helping you navigate the changes with greater confidence, self-awareness and intention.
Session 1: Preparing for maternity or paternity leave
Before you step away from work, we create space to explore what this transition means for you — practically, emotionally and professionally.
This might include expectations, worries, identity shifts, career concerns or simply making sense of what feels uncertain.
Session 3: Returning to work after parental leave
Returning to work can bring relief, excitement, overwhelm — or all three at once.
Together, we’ll navigate the emotional and practical realities of re-entry, helping you feel more prepared and supported.
Session 2: During parental leave
Parenthood can bring surprises — emotionally as well as practically.
This session gives you space to pause, process what’s changing and explore any emerging thoughts about work, ambition, identity or what matters most now.
Session 4: Settling back in
Once you’re back, the questions often shift.
How do you rebuild confidence? What still matters? What’s changed? What does success look like now?
This session is about helping you move forward in a way that feels sustainable and genuinely right for you.
Sessions are timed around your individual circumstances and adapted to your needs.
“She opened my eyes to just how much overlap there is between the skills I’ve learned as a new mother and how they can be better applied to work.”
Kristen, mum of 2
Why this work matters to me
After more than 10 years coaching professionals through career transitions, I know that becoming a parent often brings far more than practical change.
For many working parents, it raises deeper questions about identity, confidence, ambition, flexibility and what sustainable success looks like now.
Returning to work after parental leave is rarely just a logistical adjustment — it can be a genuine professional transition.
My approach
I’m an accredited executive coach with over 10 years’ experience supporting professionals through career transition, confidence challenges, return-to-work transitions and significant moments of change.
I work with working parents across the UK via Zoom, alongside local clients in Brighton and Sussex.
I’m also a working parent myself, which means this work feels deeply personal as well as professionally aligned.
My own path to parenthood was not straightforward and included many rounds of IVF, so I understand that the journey into parenthood can be emotionally complex long before parental leave or a return to work even enters the picture.
Every experience of parenthood is different. For some, this transition is joyful and exciting. For others, it may also carry exhaustion, uncertainty, grief, shifting identity or emotions that feel hard to name. Often, it’s a mixture of many things at once.
That’s part of why I care so deeply about this work.
My role isn’t to tell you what your career should look like after becoming a parent.
It’s to offer a calm, thoughtful and supportive space where you can think honestly, process what’s changing and make decisions that feel right for you.
Clients often describe my coaching style as warm, insightful and gently challenging when needed — creating space for both honest reflection and practical forward movement.

Very much so. Parenthood often shifts your relationship with ambition, identity, priorities and work itself. Some clients are focused on returning well to an existing role, while others are beginning to question whether their previous path still fits.
